South Wales contains many beautiful castles and houses to visit and explore.

Dinefwr Castle, located in llandeilo, is an awe-inspiring sight, perched on top of a sheer cliff.  The castle is surrounded by acres of land, containing Newton house, which houses many exhibitions concerning life in the early 1900s, and also a cafe.  The house also is host to many seasonal events, such as night-time walks and easter trails.

Near llandeilo is Carreg Cennen Castle, one of Wales' few privately owned castles, which includes a farm and tea room.

Also near llandeilo is Gelli Aur Country Park, a scenic blend of woodland and open fields, which houses a herd of deer, an arboretum, and several nature trails.

A little further away, but certainly not to be missed, is Llanerchaeron, a fully preserved country house from the 18th century, complete with walled gardens and full organic farm.  A similar distance away is Aberglasney House and Gardens, a recently restored 16th century house complete with gardens.
