Llandovery and Ammanford, both local towns, offer swimming facilities, whilst a bit further away in Swansea, is the LC2, a lesiure center boasting slides, a surf simulator, and a fully equipped gym.

Apart from Talley lake, there are many other places to go fishing.  For example, Springwater Lakes offers lakes for all sorts of fishing types, with easy access for the disabled, and only a small drive away.

The Red Kite Feeding Station at Gigrin Farm is less than an hour away, and offers a unique oppertunity to observe the magnificent predators.

The picturesque literary town of Hay on Wye isless than an hours drive away, and offers a multitude of bookshops to browse.
