4 bedrooms, sleeps 8 (1 x king-size, 1 x double, 1 x twin, 1 x ground-floor twin bedrooms). Two large bathrooms (upstairs bathroom with separate walk-in shower and ground floor bathroom with walk-in shower).
We offer four cottages of different sizes, set next to the striking and magical ruins of Talley Abbey, within a private estate of over 20 acres of woodland, meadows and pastureland, leading to a beautiful nature reserve. All of our cottages are dog-friendly and provide a wonderful family friendly environment, equipped with wood-burners or open fires, fast wifi, lockable bike storage and access to a large enclosed communal garden, which is perfect for barbecues and family games. A range of interesting walking routes are on the doorstep, with the Black Mountain only eight miles away for cyclists and the majesty of the Brecon Beacons a short drive. The lively market town of Llandeilo is 10 minutes down the road.

As you step through the front door of Heron House, you're welcomed by a spacious hallway with rustic hardwood flooring. To the left, you’ll find a large kitchen featuring quarry-tiled flooring and a mix of cabinets and open shelving. The kitchen is fully equipped for your stay. There is an electric stove and oven, freestanding fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, and high-quality Sage appliances – including a coffee machine, kettle and toaster. From the sink, you can enjoy views of the Abbey.
Directly across the hallway, the large family living room. There are exposed wooden beams and a feature stone wall with a wood-burning fireplace - creating a cosy rustic atmosphere. Two spacious sofas and a high-backed armchair provide plenty of seating for family and friends. A console table with plenty of board games to choose from and a smart TV offer entertainment for all ages, whether you're enjoying a quiet night in or a games night.
Further down the hallway, you’ll find a ground-floor bathroom with a walk-in shower, sink, and toilet.
Directly across the hallway, the large family living room. There are exposed wooden beams and a feature stone wall with a wood-burning fireplace - creating a cosy rustic atmosphere. Further down the hallway, you’ll find a ground-floor bathroom with a walk-in shower, sink, and toilet.
At the end of the hallway, a charming twin bedroom offers two single beds, a Victorian-style vanity with drawers and mirror, and a bedside table with a lamp.
To the right, there is a spacious dining room with a long rectangular table that comfortably seats eight, ideal for family meals. Behind the dining table there is church pew-style seating adds a quirky touch, alongside a high chair for little ones. There is a floor-to-ceiling bookcase filled with a wide selection of books. Botanical artwork and a statement floor lamp complete the space.
Tucked under the stairs, there is a storage cupboard with a clothes rack, vacuum cleaner, ironing board, and other useful essentials. There's also a shoe rack near the entrance.
Heading upstairs, the staircase is lined with a bold red carpet that leads to a large landing area showcasing the cottage’s original beams. There is a sofa and an additional fold-up bed here, should you need extra sleeping space.
At the back of the house, the spacious family bathroom is painted a calming shade of blue and includes a separate bathtub and a large shower with dual showerheads. Shelving provides practical storage, while a window above the bath lets you gaze at the stars during a relaxing soak.
Next door, a second twin bedroom offers two single beds, a comfortable sofa, chest of drawers, and a bedside table. The second double bedroom features a wardrobe, two chairs, and a comfortable double sized bed with a nightstand and lamp on either side.
At the front of the house, the spacious master bedroom boasts lovely views of the abbey. There is a large king bed with two nightstands with lamps. There are include two cosy chairs, a vanity with mirror, and a mirrored wardrobe.
Step outside to the front courtyard, where a table and two chairs provide a perfect spot for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. Guests at Heron House also enjoy access to the shared communal garden, complete with picnic benches and children’s play equipment – making this property an ideal escape for couples, families, or groups of friends alike.
